Aviv Steren

Dr. Aviv Steren is a Post-Doc researcher at the Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business & Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and at the Department of Environmental Economics and Management at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is also a research fellow at the School of Sustainability at Reichman University (previously Interdisciplinary Center, IDC). Her research interests include energy economics, environmental policy, consumer behavior, and empirical methods, with an emphasis on transport. She is particularly interested in demand-side considerations, including electric vehicle usage and charging, and its potential effect on integrating renewable energy into the electricity grid. Dr. Steren uses advanced econometric methods to analyze national-scale records of government agencies to study the effectiveness of policies designed to promote energy efficiency and other environmental objectives. She holds a PhD in Environmental Policy, an MBA (Summa Cum Laude), and a B.A. (Cum Laude) in Geography and Environmental Development and Management from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. She published in leading journals in the fields of environmental sciences, environmental studies, and economics, and she has received several prestigious research awards and scholarships.
